Hyundai Join Hands with Charge Zone For high-speed EV chargers

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Charge Zone to strengthen its electric vehicle (EV) strategy in India. In this collaboration, Charge Zone plans to set up 60 kW DC fast chargers in 100 HMIL dealerships. This initiative is in line with the Government of India's plans to promote the use of electric vehicles by enhancing the network of public charging stations for the convenience of EV users during both urban and long-distance journeys.

 

Jae Wan Ryu, Corporate Planning Function Head at HMIL, and Kartikey Hariyani, Charge Zone's Founder and CEO, signed the MoU at HMIL's Gurugram headquarters in Haryana. This strategic decision aims to alleviate range anxiety and increase customer preference for electric vehicles by improving the EV charging infrastructure.

 

“As India aims for greater adoption of electric mobility, it is equally important to bolster the EV charging infrastructure to counter range-anxiety and build customer preference towards adoption of electric mobility. By engaging in a strategic partnership with Charge Zone, we are moving towards strengthening HMIL’s EV charging network, with 100 Hyundai dealerships now to be equipped with DC 60 kW fast chargers. All EV users (Hyundai & Non-Hyundai) will benefit from the augmented network of DC fast charging stations, accessible through the ‘myHyundai’ app or through the ‘Charge Zone’ app. Such strategic alliances are crucial for accelerating the adoption of electric mobility solutions by customers and achieving India’s carbon neutrality goals,” Jae Wan Ryu said.
